Did you bleed afterwards?

I am having a TVH on 9-3 and wondered if someone could tell me about the post op bleeding. I am not sure what to expect.

Also, did you have *packing* and did removal hurt?

Did you bleed afterwards?

Everyone is different . I have had some slight spotting since my surgery on Aug 6. Nothing more than a pantyliner could handle. I had a TAH. so had no packing. TVH may be different tho. Good luck to you.. my best tip through it all is lots of pillows.. and take it easy.

Did you bleed afterwards?

i had a lavh with no packing. i only had spotting afterwards. then in about a week i started having clots, got really scared, went to dr. he did an exam and said that he only saw one area that was a little irritated, put silver nitrate on it, continued to bleed a little then it finally stopped. all of this was in a 3 week period. i quess everyone is different. i hope everything goes good for you. i had virtually no pain afterwards, just a little stiff. good luck. leah

Did you bleed afterwards?

No packing here and I'm still bleeding/having discharge from my July 21st surgery.

Did you bleed afterwards?

I didn't bleed at all not even spotting. If I had packing, they removed it before I woke up. The nurse ask the dr. if I still had packing when she removed the cath, he said no. I had them remove the cath as soon as I woke up (it wasn't in right and I had to go...they said it only feels that way--but I was right)
And because I got up that quickly...I was given regular food.

Good Luck

Did you bleed afterwards?

I had packing and a catheter for 6 hours after surgery. For me the removal of the packing was very easy, no pain, just somewhat uncomfortable like a somewhat sticky wet bandage being removed. I had very little bleeding post-op much less than during my period and in three days, nothing.

Best wishes to you - Joanne

Did you bleed afterwards?

I had a TVH and didn't experience any bleeding or discharge. I didn't have any packing and I didn't have a catheter after surgery. Be sure to ask your doctor what you can expect.

Did you bleed afterwards?

I had TVH 4 wks ago and had packing removed the day after surgery. I expected it to be agony since I'd heard the woman opposite screaming when they removed hers but it wasn't bad, just aware of a tugging sensation and slight stinging like when you put grazed skin under water. Depends on your pain threshold I suppose.

Still bleeding 4 wks on though, not heavy but constant flow.

Did you bleed afterwards?

I had a TVH on 31 July. They didn't use any packing. I had a foley catheter (has a little ballon on the end to stay in place) for a bit less than 24 hrs after surgery. The up side to the catheter is you don't have to get up to use the restroom, though they did encourage me to walk as soon as I felt up to it. The first 24 hrs I had some "heavier bleeding", though it was much less than my periods had been! I had some light bleeding when I went home, nothing more than a pantyshield would handle. At almost 3 weeks out I just have really light intermittent spotting. Dr said to expect some light discharge for the next few weeks.

Did you bleed afterwards?

I had a vag hyst (kept ovaries). I had light bleeding/spotting for about 4 weeks. I had packing and the nurse removed it several hours after surgery while I was in my hospital room. Removing it didn't hurt at all. It was just like removing a really long tampon. I was amazed at how much material was stuffed inside me.
