How long is the recovery time for a lap??

For me, I was out of work for 3 weeks after my 1st lap--DH was home with me for 2 weeks and my mother for the other week. With my second, I had 2 weeks down time with DH home with me. I had stage 3 and stage 4 endo.

I think it depends on how the surgery is being done. I just had a lap with a well known endo excision surgeon in Atlanta and stopped taking pain meds (advil and prescription meds) 1 week and about 3 days after surgery. I felt great afterwards...better than my last 2 laps.

How long is the recovery time for a lap??

My exporitory LAPO was easy compared to my LAVH. The Air in my shoulder hurt the worst. I had my LAPO on a Thursday and we were on our way to LA for a Cruise by Saturday. It truely does depend on you as an individual. Try to go into it with a positive attitdue. I had something to look forward to so that might have helped. Good Luck!!!

How long is the recovery time for a lap??

My last lap was worst than the first. This last one was done by an endometriosis specialist who is very meticulous so I warned that my recovery might be a bit longer. And it was! I actually hurt for a few weeks. By maybe week four I was starting to feel normal again.

Best wishes to you! s

How long is the recovery time for a lap??

Everyone is so different with healing. For me I have had several laps. When they did fulguration it was about 3
weeks but when I had excision and the surgery was 5 hours then it took me closer to 6 weeks before I could do anything.
Good luck!
