Why you shouldn't lift (child mentioned)

So I am 2 weeks 1 day post~op I went to see the doctor on Monday and he gave me the okay to lift my daughter, she is 24 pounds. I realy have no choice at this point but to do the lifting of her seeing how my son went back to school today. But let me tell you it hurts, it feels like some one kicked me in the croch very hard, an dI also get these sudden pains in my sides ugh. I just called the doctor for another pain script it will be waiting on me in the morning thank God. I guess I just wanted to let you know its ok but it hurts so at all cost try to avoid any lifting ladies.

Does your Dr. know how much your daughter weighs. I was still on my restrictions of not lifting anything heavier then 10 pounds until I was 6 weeks.

Why you shouldn't lift (child mentioned)

I am on a 10 pd limit for 6 weeks as well. I think 24 pds would put me in the ER. I would also think bending over to reach her isn't helping. I am finding my biggest indication past pain is the swelly belly (which I forgot to mention on my daily update post). When I do something I probably shouldn't have I swell up like a balloon.

Why you shouldn't lift (child mentioned)

I had an lavh and I went on monday (4 weeks post op) for an incision check, well they decided to go ahead and do my 6 week appt than so I don't have to go back.

So I asked if I was released from restrictions and they said no not until 6 weeks and than I asked so at 6 weeks can I lift my son he is 24 lbs, they said oh no you can't do that until 8 weeks.

All my older kids are in school as well and my 4 yr old weighs as much as he does so she can't lift him. So he does a lot of pulling me by the hand and crying. I feel bad but I am not going to ruin things.

So if I were you I would try not to lift him. We have made us of a step stool to help him get in and out of bed and I just kind of help roll him over the bar. He eats at the couch with me. You can make it work without lifting.

Why you shouldn't lift (child mentioned)

I'm on the no lifting anything more than 5 pounds for about 6 weeks myself and I'm a SAHM. I've got 3 kids (2 preschoolers and one toddler). At my 6 week check up, I'm checking in with my obgyn (she didn't do the surgery since I had it done out of state by an endo excision specialist) to see if I can lift my kids.

Yes my doctor knew how much she weighed. As for not lifting her I cant go without lifting her. She is only 9 months old and will be 10 months old tomarrow. She was also 2 months prematue so she dont know how to walk. But with pain meds. its a lil easier today.

Why you shouldn't lift (child mentioned)

It's so funny to see how different dr's are when it comes to restrictions. My Dr. told me that I could lift my 40 pound 3 year old whenever it felt ok to do so. He said I had no internal stitches ( I think that is a fairly new technique) with my LSH so I wouldn't mess anything up. I think he's being a little laissez faire about it all so I am erring on the side of caution, but picking up my son *occasionally* hasn't caused me any problems from about 2 weeks Post Op.

He also said I could return to my exercise routine but to let pain be my guide. He didn't want to put absolute restrictions on me, except no sex of course.
