new here. need some opinions

I'm Vanessa. I'm 29. 4 yrs ago, after my 3rd child was born i had my tubes tied. Since then, I've had horrible cramps, where pamprin would not work...And also my cycles have been so unpredictable...

So i brought it up to my doctor, last week...and he sends me into for ultrasound....I went Monday, the office called me back on Tuesday, and said they want me to go in for another one, right after my next period. They said, I have some thickening on my endometrium lining...I know i shouldn't be stressing...but i'm kinda worried as to what it would be...Any insights?

TIA!

Vanessa

It could be adenomyosis -- sort of a type of endometriosis inside the uterine wall. Very very painful. Don't stress too much, but...the only known real treatment is hysterectomy (same thing happened to me...but I was older...47). It can also happen to ladies that have babies (and that wasn't me, but that also may be why I was older when it became a problem)
I wish you the best. I hope you get good news/relief

Hi Vanessa...I'm Sandy and I'm 29 also. I had a tubal after my 2nd child, and it seems like that is when all my problems began. I just had my total abdominal hysterectomy 9-10-08. I had my uterus, left ovary and tube, and cervix removed. When I went to the dr, to tell them about my pain, he also ordered an ultrasound. He told me I had adenomyosis, and also hemorragic cysts on my left ovary. The only real cure for adenomyosis is a hysterectomy. I know, it is a scary thing at 29 years old. It's the best decision I've made, to go ahead and have it done. Best wishes, I hope everything works out for you.

Hi Vanessa!
I am 39, but am in the same boat as you. I have two kids and had a tubal three years ago when my youngest was 9 yrs. old. Since then my periods have been heavy, out of control, irregular, and I suffer from most of my cramping before and after my period, not during. I too have been diagnosed with adenomyosis and have chose a TVH as my treatment. After much thought, it seems to be the option with the least amount of risk. I am not a fan of BC because of the health risks, and ablation is not an option for me according to my surgeon. My choice may not be the same choice another would have made in my place...but it is the right one for me.
Whatever treatment you choose, it has to be the right one for you.
