Scared to Death...

Hi Ladies,

Havent been on here in a while, well since I went back to work in April 08. Had a Partial Hysterectomy and only had my left ovary removed. They said the tumor was non-cancerous. Well I just hit my 7month mark on Sept. 29. Went back to my doctor on the 2nd, being worried about peeing to much. Well he did a feel check internally and felt something wierd. Asked if I felt any pain on my right ovary, I said well yes! Asked if I had been having any other problems other than frequent trips to the bathroom.

Well he in turn did a vaginal ultrasound, didnt look good. He turned around and showed me the screen, he got a worried look and said well your right one is showing the same symptoms and is almost as big as the left one was. FYI my left was taken out at 10cm, the right one (7mo later) is at 8cm. When he did the lateral hysterectomy (belly button to top of V.) the right one was fine and nothing was wrong with it.

So now I am scheduled to go in next month for another surgery in the same area. They are having to go into the same scar from the first hysterectomy and reopen me. They said its going to take a lot longer due to scar tissue and the right ovary pushing into my bladder.

I am totally freaking out and scared to death, I mean why in less than 7 months would my other ovary just go bad. The left one was non-cancerous. So I am just scared of what this result may be.

The first one was diagnosed as being a mucinous cystadenoma. He is pretty positive its the same and that this one is different being that it has chambers in it.

So please keep a prayer open for me to keep me safe and hopefully back here to talk about it. Surgery date is november 14th. My first one was february 29th.

Hope all you ladies are still healthy and doing well.
Thanks for listening to me, being scared is not easy, DH is here trying to be caring and trying not to be worried but I am enough for us both.

Scared to Death...

If you are anything like me, there is nothing I can say to stop your worries. Just know that reading your post from a total strangers standpoint it sounds like you are dealing with the exact thing that you had before. A Non cancerous growth. Ovarian cancer just doesn't show up that fast and grow that fast. You have a history of diseased ovaries and it sounds like for whatever reason this ovary decided to wait a bit longer to show it's signs. Not convenient at all of course. It's so weird how our bodies work I wish we could instruct them to work the way we want them to! I honestly believe that it is not cancer and will keep you in my prayers. I think waiting is the worst part and if you can keep your worries in check for the next month you are super woman! Sounds like a wild ride you've been on and just think of the stories you will have to share. It becomes part of your "history" and you will have an interesting one! Please know that we are thinking of you in cyberspace!

Scared to Death...

Hi,
I can't imagine how that moment must have felt in the doctor's office.

Just wanted to say I hope you can find moments in the day to be free of this worry. Even a few seconds or minutes at a time.

Can the doctor give you something to help at least a little bit with the anxiety?

Will be thinking of you.

Scared to Death...

I am so sorry this is happening to you sweetie, and with another surgery so soon
I hate to look back and see where things went wrong, but did you have your cervix taken out in your hyster? reason for asking if you didnt, and you get these tumors, and they are going in again, maybe if you still have your cervix its best if they take it out now. if you dont mind me asking, how old are you?

hang in there sweetie, and take lots of deep breaths and keep your faith.
to ease your anxieties, have your doctor done a CA125 on this tumor? you and your family are in our prayers hun

Really sorry to hear that you are facing another op and I know that you will worry whatever us sisters say but...........

About 10 years my mother, then in her 70's, had an ultrasound result that sounded very much like yours and so they decided to operate within a week. It turned out that it was "just" an ovarian cysts. Between the ultrasound and the operation it double in size and appeared to have chambers within it so they really were expecting the worst.

We were all mightily relieved and I am sure you will be too.

I have my fingers crossed that all will go well for you

Scared to Death...

Thank you sisters for your words and concerns, I am 28 years old. They removed everything but my right ovary. He wanted to leave it for me to have to avoid the hormone pills. Nice! Wishing now that he took all of it so we didnt have to do it twice. Cant have moments without thoughts! Watched LA Ink on TLC the other night, it was a repeat but Kat Von D. had the ovary issue too and the moment it showed her walking and waiting in the waiting room, I began to freak out myself remembering how it felt to be scared death. Thank you again! I appreciate it all!
