TVH, Bladder Repair, Anterior/Posterior repair of Vagina

For 4 years I had experienced a prolapsed uterus and bladder at the age of 46 which caused discomfort and dribbling. My vagina was also extremely loose which did nothing for my personal, intimate life. On Oct 21 I went in for surgery and I have been home now for 2 days. The only discomfort I have is from the anterior and posterior repair of the vagina, gas and exhaustion. The pain is like having an episeotomy during childbirth with the sensation of a burning/ripping sensation down the entire cannal of the vagina.

While in the hospital, I was on a pain pump for a day (self induced morphene) and had an IV and catheter. On the 3rd day the catheter was removed and my urine intake was measured and bladder scanned to see if I was retaining uriine after passing to see if it was functioning properly in its new position. The worst part of the surgery was the catheter as it prohibited me from turing from one side to the other side in bed and after 3 days I just wanted the thing out. The best thing was the fact that I now have no periods, a vagina the size of a teenager, and hopefully as it is still too early to tell, no dribbling. Now If only this burning sensation in my vagina would pass and I regain my strength I would be very content. I must be patient!
