Question about Lap & Dr's report????

Hi Sisters,
I had a lap and D&C done July 30. I was told that my DR found only adhesions this time. 5 years ago, he found Endo. Anyways, after meeting w/ him after the surgery we did discuss a possible hysterectomy next surgery, even though he found JUST adhesions. But I've been wondering, could I get a copy of the report??? I really like my Dr, been seeing him for years, as he delivered both my children and did perform the 2 laps on me, but he doesn't communicate too well. He's very short and precise. Im wondering about details that I forgot to ask him. Could my Uteras be enlarged, boggy etc., anything that might suggest adenomyosis???? If anyone has any input, I would appreciate it. I think I will put a call into him today! Thanks Again!!!

Mary...

Yes! In the US you have a legal right to all medical records, including surgical and path reports.

There is no harm in getting second opinions, either. If you have a primary physician you might ask her/him to recommend a good GYN who has good communication skills. They know the reputations in the medical community and can lead you to someone who can answer your questions.

Re: Lap & D&C

Hi Mary,
Nice to meet you I just joined the group, and after reading your
post I had to reply. On July 14th, 01 I had a Lap & D&C and the
and fibroids were removed & also the dr told me that I had an
enlarged uterus, adhesions. However, he refused to do a hyst
for me & I wanted to have that done. After my 2nd son was born
19 yrs. ago I had a tubal. Now I've been experincing severe abdominal cramping, chronic pelvic pain, and my periods have
been very irregular with heavy bleeding (clots). Needless to say
the gyn & I no longer have a dr. patient relationship. He treated
me like dirt. He told me that all the "pain" was in my head...
So on Aug.22,01 I'm going to a NEW gyn for a 2nd opinion.
I truly hope that all works out for you. Please feel free to email
me anytime. Take Care Of Yourself...

Michelle
