I realized something today . . . .

After feeling like maybe I shouldn't have done this and feeling guilty that my family is crazy without Mommy around - it finally hit me that as sore as I am after having this surgery - this hysterectomy is no where near as painful as any of my periods have been in the last two years.

I was second guessing this surgery everyday since I found out I needed it. I felt guilty since this was just an elective thing. I felt like I was just being a wimp - every woman has her peroids - why did I let it bother me. I should just suck it up and deal like all other women do.

I didn't ask my doctor yet if he saw adenomyosis in the uterus - I am afraid he will say he saw nothing wrong with my uterus, but I can say this discomfort is NOTHING like the labor like pains begining a week before AF started and lasting the entire two weeks of AF.

I just wanted to share that with others who understand!

I realized something today . . . .

Trust me I felt the same way! I second guessed the choice up until the day I went in. It has been a few weeks for me and each day gets easier. I had planned on being home from work until Thanksgiving but decided I would go back this week. After the 13th day I completley turned the corner and felt better. I know my limitations and stop when I need to. I feel the same way as you do about the recovery not being as bad as my monthly periods. Thank goodness for that! My kids are very happy that mom is getting back to normal and so is my husband. He got to be me for once. I think my all male household has a new apprecitation for me!
