Diagnosed with cancer

I recently had a large tumor removed about the size of a 8 1/2 x 11 cake pan. The tests came back that is a rare form of ovarian cancer. I go to the pathologist on Tuesday. So far prognosis looks good.

Denise:

First of all, welcome! And second, sorry you had to find yourself here. Nobody wants to have to seek out a resource like this, but since we are here, I hope you'll find this board to be as wonderful as I have.

The ladies here are fabulous, brave, informative, supportive, and funny as all get-out! You're in good company.

I'm sorry to hear about your diagnosis. I hope you're starting to heal and to feel better after your surgery -- just getting that tumor out of you must be a relief!

We're glad you're here!

Also thinking of you

Hello Denise,
I am also thinking of you and sending prayers for your healing. Hope that your Tuesday appointment is a good one, and that you continue to get reassuring news.

I am also from PA...north central part of the state in a very rural area.

Maybe we should have a PA meetup. Barb you are in my back woods.

Sorry to hear of your diagnosis. I do hope with the pathology report that you will better understand and know how to deal with this. Keep us posted.

Diagnosed with cancer

Hi Denise! I'm glad that you found us! I am sorry for your cancer diagnosis. Do you have any further details as to the type or name of the cancer?

Also, I hope that you are seeing a gynecologic oncologist (a specialist in womens gynecological cancer). They are the experts - and insurance does cover it (if that is a concern). This is even more important if you have a rarer type of cancer. Your doctor can refer you to one - or maybe Faith or Barb could even recommend a good one to you!

Take it easy and rest! You are still healing.
