dizziness on Premarin?

I have just found out that premarin may be the cause of my dizzy/vertigo type episodes.

I had a TAH with removal of ovaries 3 weeks ago and took premarin about 6 days post op. I experienced severe dizziness a few days later - now I think it is subsiding .... I think I feel calmer since taking premarin so am not keen to stop.... anyone else been here? Will the dizziness eventually go or is there something better I could take?

I found my dizziness was dose dependent. Not sure what your dose is? It might help if you can lower it.

dizziness on Premarin?

Hi Chloelynn,

I think I'm on the lowest dose possible - I'm due for my 1st appt with surgeon on Tuesday so will discuss it with him.

Am very confused about HRT - after my last post spent most of the day raging, crying and very depressed. I thought the HRT was making me better but now I'm not sure if it is making me worse....Help!!!!!

My partner says I should just get on with it and stop complaining (which really helps) don't know what I would do without this site...just wish you were all in the UK

dizziness on Premarin?

The type of estrogen you are using may not suit you. Not all women tolerate Premarin as it is synthetic estrogen derived from horse urine. Try something bioidentical before you give up on estrogen replacement. Maybe ask for a sample of Climara patch or vivelle patch as both are bioidentical and supply the exact type of estrogen your own body produced.
