remember NIKI4 ?

Hi girls, I have received an email from niki4 who posted here awhile ago. She told me that she came through her 6 weeks of external radiation without any major side effects. Her internal treatment/brachytherapy was abit more of an ordeal. She had two treatments .. one lasting for 36 hours and the 2nd lasting for 40 hours. The poor girl. Anyway she asked me to let you all know she is doing ok. So that is another one who has survived

Robyn,

Thanks so much for the update. I'm holding Niki in my prayers for no lasting side effects. That certainly is a long time for treatments, whew! I bet she's glad that it is all done.

Send her my congrats!

from Niki4

Hi,

I want to thank all of you for your support and prayers. I feel such comfort in having the support of my Sisters. A special thanks to Robyn for her e-mails of concern and valuable information.

In the first three weeks of my cancer diagnosis (on April 3rd - I'll never forget the date! It was also two days before my birthday!), I thought I was going to die. I had cancer in 5 places in my body (uterus, lymph nodes, next to the bladder, along urethea and on vagina). I have gone through the fear and uncertainty and sheer terror, just as all of you have. The doctors now tell me that I have a 95% chance of being cured. Pretty good odds!

I just want all of you who are still in treatment to know that cancer is curable and beatable! And no matter what the side-effects of treatment are or how very grueling they can be - life is worth it. There is a light at the end of the tunnel. There is a morning after.

I feel connected in Sisterhood to all of you and I deeply appreciate your support and concern. This website is so important for the exchange of information and to know that we are all connected to each other.

Love,

Niki4
