C-section and partial hyst

Just wanted to introduce myself. I was reading through past threads and didn't see many women in my situation though I am sure they are out there.

I am due with my 6th child and 4th c-section in February. I have a very complicated pregnancy. Currently my OB is almost certain I will be facing a c-section and hysterectomy at the same time due to an accreta with part of my placenta. They will deliver the baby and leave the placenta and then take out the uterus, leaving my ovaries (and cervix??).

I was reading the thread on the recovery and pain in a c-section and TAH and it seemed most women said the TAH was worse. I don't know what to expect after a hysterectomy and having a newborn who will be born a preemie at 34 weeks (they don't want me to labor AT ALL and with three preterm babies they will take this baby early to avoid contractions and /or labor).

I have had one emergency section with my third child (he was a double footling breech and they couldn't turn him). I had extended cuts on both sides (bikini cut) and the recovery was horrendous. My fourth child was a scheduled section and I went into labor four weeks early. Recovery was not AS bad as first. Fifth child same thing happened, only this time I almost ruptured.

They fear a rupture with this baby and a hysterectomy is about 90% likely, especially with the accreta that they suspect.

Has anyone else had a TAH at the time of a c-section?
