Hard Bump above incision

Hello all I had my surgery on 11/14/2008 and I still feel very tender and sore down there but my main concern is that I have a hard swollen bump above my incision it is very noticable as well has anyone had this and did it go away? I go and see my Dr. on Thursday. Also what does the Dr. do at this visit?? I am nervous that he is going to poke and prod the area OUCH. Hope to hear back from some one as this is my very first time on this website. Dawn

Hard Bump above incision

I have this hard bulge as well. Mine is just below my incision. I aslo posted asking about it and i had a few replies that others have it and it goes away about the 4th week or so. I'm is slowly going down it but seems it i over do it,it gets more noticable but if i rest it starts to go down. Hope this helps and remember you can always call your doc if you are worried about something.

I have this too from another surgery. My doctor told me that they stitch the cut so tight that it does this so that the scar will not be big when it heals.

Thank you for responding mine gets bigger the more I move around as well when you went for your follow up visit what does the Dr do? I am affraid of the area being touched (I hate pain) I am still tender and the area that bothers me the most is the area where the bump is.

wow I'd rather the scar to be bigger I mean no one is going to see the scar but my and my husband it is so low that it would not have mattered the bump is very noticable. How long have you had your surgery and has the bump gotten any smaller?

I did too. I've seen the doctor now four times, because a portion of the incision not healing. We are packing that portion that's not healing and I don't feel a thing. When you touch the incision are you in pain? (I tell my lovely Dr "no sense no feeling.") My four week post-op is next week (I was at the Dr's this AM for wound check) and she asks if I had any questions and looks at the incision.

I have the bump too, but it's not sore. I'd definitely tell your DR about it. :-)
