two year check up today (a good story)
Well, I had my two year check up today. I'm having check=ups every 6 months and a yearly ct scan (bleh) still. My gynecological oncologist is always happy to see me because I'm doing fine.
So, here's my story. First of all, I'm 5'10" and 130 pounds overweight. I'm LARGE. So I'm in the stirrups, my knees spread, and he's talking to me--did I have any pains, how am I feeling, and then he says, "have you lost any weight?" So I said, sadly, "no." and waited for him to scold me. He, bless him, said "Great! How's your appetite?" By this time I'm laughing, the nurse is laughing. I say, "too good" and he said "that's what I like to hear."
What a wonderful man!
Anyway, when I was in the waiting room, I was thinking, here are all my sisters. I wanted to give them all a hug. I was thinking, here we are, all of us here on the boards. Only one nice thing in the waiting room were two women many years later, looking pretty darn good. Yay! We'll be there too one of these days.

two year check up today (a good story)
Woohoooo....Love these great checkup posts!!!!
Hugs Trish!!!
What a great post!! Congrats on your checkup!! What a great encouraging story!! Yes we will all be there many years later still being faithful to our checkups just like those ladies!!
You have a wonderful caring oncologist by the sounds of it! They are a special breed of men and women I think. They have to deliver bad news everyday, and I think the success stories must be so wonderful for them, and makes them realize why they do the terrific work they do!!
Gosh Trish 2 years, do they get any less scarier? These 3 months ones are killing me with fear, even more than when I was going through chemo and having them every 3 weeks.
Have a great weekend Trish. Hope you plan to celebrate!!
Love and Hugs,
Maria xoxo

two year check up today (a good story)
Hi Trish
That is fantastic news! Sounds like you have a great oncologist. My 3 month check up is due September 21st, and sure am nervous. Dont know if I get a cat scan or not, so far a CA-125. I pray my visit goes as well as yours did, and I can celebrate that visit. If you dont mind would like to email you sometime, would like info on a cat scan, scary, hurts, etc. Well, good going, and wish you continued good health...

CONGRATULATIONS!
I am happy to hear your good news. When my gyn oncologist told me last year that I didn't need chemo, he said he wished he could tell that to more patients. I am 14 months post-op and still trying to recover my energy. Did yours come back 100% eventually?

two year check up today (a good story)
I had a number of stressful things happen last year so I can't tell when I got energy again. But I must have it back--I've been working 50-60 hour weeks since May 15!
I've just been noticing much more actual urge to exercise on top of the work. But I'd have to say the increase in energy happened in the last say four months. I hadn't thought of it--chalking up the lack of vim to other things--but it could be another whole final process of healing too.
