Anyone at or around day 16 still need pain meds from doc?/new pain or severe back pai

Hey sisters,

I am at day 16. I have been dealing with low back pain along with all the other post op pain and discomfort. I am on day 4 of OTC meds for pain (tylenol & Motrin 600mg). Last night I started having new pain in my vagina region......not "in" my vagina but seemingly all around, if that makes any sense. They were sharp pains. Lasted most of the night. I have also been noticing something pressure wise or painful feeling when I urinate, but not like a UTI. I can't get comfortable enough at night to even get the kind of sleep I know my body needs for this recovery process. And I have been active enough that I am tired and should have no problem sleeping at night.

Is anyone else still needing pain meds from the doc at this stage? I am going to call mine, but always like others input.

I still have been taking pain meds. I was a little worried but the nurse told me that some of the patients take it the full 6 weeks. You might be getting too active, be careful and don't over-do it!

I am at day 22 and it was hard the first few days off the pain meds. But what I found that helped was getting a good night sleep and that was very hard as I had alot of pain at night and could not get comfortable to sleep. I started taking Tylenol PM since it is has a mild sleep aid. I am still taking it and it is really helping me to get good solid rest at night and makes it better for me during the day.

Thanks K9
My problem is I can't take Benadryl and that's the ingredient in Tylenol PM. I have tried Melatonin and warm/hot baths at night. My biggest probelm now is not having slept for the last 3 nights, hurting still, and facing a 7hr. road trip to a family wedding day after tomorrow!!!!!!! UUGGGHHHHHH!!!!

Thats not good. I would call the dr and get something to help sleep. Its very important to sleep to help you body to heal. I am further along then you and there is no way I could take a 7 hour road trip. I wish you the best and hope you get feeling better soon.
