Posterior repair with perineal repair

I had my hysterectomy in 1995, when I was 30, but developed a rectocele recently. I am 5 weeks post posterior repair & perineal repair, and apart from the first 2 weeks, haven't had too much discomfort. The only trouble is, i've had a "feel" inside and i can still feel....shall we say....obstructions. Almost as bad as before, but not quite the same. Has anyone else experienced this?....i'm not sure if it is some kind of swelling, to be expected post op, or if the op has been unsuccessful, or whether i have developed a cystocele. I'm not seeing my consultant till 18th December, so just wondered if anyone could offer any info in the meantime.

You're probably still swollen, I felt like that to at first. Just mention it to your doctor so he can check on it.

Good luck!

Posterior repair with perineal repair

Hi, I had hysterectomy and posterior repair just over 7 weeks ago. I still have swelling like a vertical ridge. Hoping that it is just swelling and will minimise in time. It is still a little tender on this area as well. My dr. said all is well when I had 5 week check. Luckily my cyctocele has gone now that my big fat uterus isn't sitting on top of my bladder but it did feel completely different to this swelling. Give yourself some time to heal and for swelling to go down, I think this can take quite some time, but mention it your dr when you go for check up. Good luck and hugs to you.
