3 1/2 weeks post op and feel worse than week 1

So, I am asking if anybody else is experiencing this? I am 3 1/2 weeks post op and am feeling more pain than I did at week one. Granted its not bad pain, its terribly annoying pain though. I hardly had any pain with this surgery and felt great right away and wondered what everyone was talking about re: the pain. Well, now here I sit, 3 1/2 weeks out and feeling like everything inside is twisting and pulling. I stretched a little bit a few hours ago and my back is hurting and my abdomen is achey.

I had a LAVH and like I said, I felt wonderful. I am so frustrated with the pain I have been having this entire week. It was like the three week mark hit and BAM, everything starts hurting again. I took pain meds last night even though the pain, I didn't think was excruciating. Maybe I am just expecting too much out of myself or something? All I know is I am very frustrated and "down" about all of this!

I feel lots of twisting and pulls, also, at three 1/2 weeks out. Guess it's the stiches....?

I am at 5 weeks now & some things that are still healing are hurting too. I am sure it is just another stage of the healing process.

Totally normal. I felt like crap at the 3-4 week mark. Doctor said it was normal and expected. I felt like a million bucks the first 2 weeks!!!

I'm at week 5 1/2 now and I'm still getting a day here or there that is not great. But I have more good days than bad ones. I guess the recovery process really does take a lot of time.

Weeks 3 and 4 were tough, mostly because the pain is still there and you feel you should be able to do more but you can't. Hang in there, it does get better.

post op pain

The slow recovery process can be so maddening! I felt like I was going bonkers around the 3-4 week mark because the pain level was the same every single day and it felt like I was never making progress. I had 2 c-sections prior so I thought the recovery would feel the same, but I was enlightened that lots of ligaments, etc., were cut this time all around my uterus, which makes for a slower recovery than a c-section. Things are "finding a new home" in there! Try to relax and take one day at a time, and know that it will get better, I promise!

Thanks everybody for your support. It really helps! I feel a little bit better today but am taking Advil on a regular schedule and that is helping. I had to take a percocet again last night and don't want to have to do it again. I only have a few left, so no need to rely on them, huh? I have done absolutely nothing today and only went to the store yesterday with my husband.

Again, thanks everybody for the support!!!!

You may want to try something like Tylenol PM for the night time. I was told by my Aunt who is a nurse that the pain pills actually have something in them that hype you up a little bit so they are not good at night. Most people save them up & take them at night but sometimes they make it worse. Just a though. Best of luck!

Seabutterfly- Tylenol#3's have caffeine in them. 15mg of the stuff. That's like 3 cups of coffee. Its in there to keep you from getting too sleepy and with for people with migraines. I'm not sure if percocet has any in it though.
