Considering a change in hormone therapy

I have an allergic reaction to adhesives and therefore have alot of itching and redness from the dot. I have been considering asking the Dr. about the estraring, has anyone tried this?

Considering a change in hormone therapy

Hi!

I'm sorry that you're not having better luck with the Vivelle Dot. It's what I use and I really like it because it works well and is very convenient.

Are you considering asking your doctor about Estring or Femring? They are both vaginal estrogen rings but Estring is a low dose estrogen prescribed for treating vaginal dryness--not for the major menopause symptoms with surgical menopause. If you want systemic estrogen to take the place of Vivelle Dot, you'll want to ask your doctor about Femring.

I don't have any personal experiences to share with either of those but I know that there are members who do. I hope they will be along soon to share their experiences with you.

Considering a change in hormone therapy

I used the Vivelle Dot twice before when I was in a forced menopause and had no problems with it ( I swear though that it was half the size as it is now). It is very convenient and I am having no other problems with it besides the itching & redness.

I was going to ask about the Estring since that is what my mom uses and swears by it, but she is older and I'm sure she is past the "hot flash" stages, etc. So maybe I'll ask about the Femring.
I do have concerns about the above and sexual activities also.

Thanks for your reply!
