Question for post-op adenomyosis patients
To all the gals that replied to this thread and have since had your hyster, how is everyone feeling about the symptoms you wrote about before? Regarding back pain, fatigue, stomach bloating?
Would love to hear about it and whether adenomyosis was confirmed as suspected.

Question for post-op adenomyosis patients
Hi Stosh,
I had my hysterectomy on Dec. 5th. Mine was Laprascopic but much longer than expected...4 hours! My uterus was 6x larger because of the fibroids and adenomoyosis was confirmed. They also found alot of endo that I knew I had some of, but not that much. It had to scaped off of some of my organs which is why I had pain in weird places.
I didn't have much stomach bloating afterwards, thankfully, but watch those gas pains. They can be brutal if you're not moving around much, which I did every day or not taking something for it. I used GasX and Carrot juice. Sounds disgusting but it worked so well. I didn't realize how much my stomach size was because of the enlarged uterus. Once I get moving around more and for longer periods of time, it will look OK. I haven't had anymore back pain since my surgery. I still have some leg pain but I think it's related to a sciatic nerve.
I'm making progress every day but still wear out easily. I think everyone is different. Just take it easy and no cooking and cleaning. It doesn't work, I tried a little bit and paid big time for it.
Good luck! Let us know how it went.

Question for post-op adenomyosis patients
Hi Stosh,
I have my LAVH on 11/25 and I'm slowly getting there. The back pain is gone but I'm really tired and my belly still swells up, especially at night. But the cramping that used to last weeks every month is gone...yeah!

Question for post-op adenomyosis patients
Rherhe66,
I had TAH 9/11 and I am amazed at how much better my quality of life is now! My stomach is actually flat now and all the symptoms I had prior to surgery are absolutely gone. I, of course, had some swelling for several weeks after surgery...mostly in the evening. But I am now at 150% and I have no regrets. I hope everyone will have as positive of an experience as I have and I wish you all the best.

Question for post-op adenomyosis patients
Hi Stosh,
I had LAVH including cervix (kept ovaries) on Dec 15th and am feeling so much better every day! I also had my gall bladder removed at the same time, so I assume some of the pre surgery symptoms were related to that. But, since surgery I do have the stomach bloating, bad gas, some back pain and general abdominal achiness but overall, Im surprised that it's not worse! My uterus was 4x the normal size and the gall bladder was full of stones...for the gas - Gas X and a little walking helps. The back pains and general achiness seems to get better if I move around a bit - but I definately notice that I get tired easy. I am so happy that I made this decision!
Hope this helps. Best of luck,
Tracy
