Blood on tissue a year a half later...

I am I had blood on my toilet paper after I wiped. I had a total hysterectomy in June 06 so it seems a bit odd. It is NOT from hemorroids, as it was NOT from wiping the other area. (How on earth do I word this to make it sound appropriate lol) Anyone else have this happen to them, a long time after a hysterectomy?

it does sound a bit odd, but, could it be that maybe you had a small pimple or scratched yourself without realizing it I would pay close attention when wiping and see if it happens again or if the color changes...

I would see if it happens again and then make an appt. with the gyne.

I am no expert, but here is my two cents..... I see that you had a SAH, which from what I understand means that you kept your cervix. When I was discussing options with my Dr., he said that if I kept my cervix that over time blood could build up in the tissue of the cervix and cause mini periods. I am so surprised your Dr not mention that to you.

Hi hunieB!

There are many reasons why you could have had blood including a UTI, mini period since you did keep both your cervix and ovaries, some vaginal dryness or irritation, etc. I would try not to panic though I know my heart missed a beat the first time I found blood on the tissue several years post hysterectomy!

Let you doctor know what has happened and not any symptoms you may be feeling. The first couple times for me I had no other symptoms. The next couple times I very much felt like I had a UTI.

I wish you all the best! Let us know what you find out! S

Hi huniB,

Sorry to hear about the bleeding you are expereincing and I am hoping it is not something that will continue. I had a Lap assisted vaginal hyst. in 2006 and still continue to cramp and bleed terribly after exercise, standing too long or in general usually every six weeks or so - I call them mini periods but they are debilitating with pain.J
