Endometrial Hyperplasia?

My doctor never said the words, but after doing some reading, I wonder if I might have this?

My periods are very irregular. Sometimes I can go a couple months without having one, then when I have one they are very heavy and last several weeks.

She told me that if I ever went more than a couple months without having a period, that I would need to get a shot to bring them on because going that long without a period could put me at risk for cancer.

She also told me that the lining of my uterus was building up so much, and when it finally shed that's why I was having bad periods.

I was on Depo Provera for part of last year. Starting about a week ago, I am on Provera 10mg. She told me to take one pill each day for 14 days, then no pills for 14 days.

I was wondering if this sounded like Endometrial Hyperplasia, even though she never said that. I did have an internal exam at my last appointment just over a week ago, and not sure if she did any testing then, I know I had a pap smear.

She wants me to try the Oral Provera for 3 months and see if things even out. I'm having so many side effects with it though, I don't know which is worse, the bleeding or the irritability and weight gain.

Endometrial Hyperplasia?

when i was bleeding way too heavily, my dr did a hysteroscopy and d&c. all kinds of biopsies were done at that time. you'd definitely want to know if you had a condition like this before a hysterectomy. have you had any tests done?

Endometrial Hyperplasia?

I found an article in our Resource Database that might be helpful for you: https://www.hystersisters.com/vb2/lin...=jump&lid=1896.

I would also suggest making a list of all of your specific questions and concerns regarding your possible diagnosis and sit down and talk them over with your doctor. Sometimes doctors assume we know more than we do or they do not want to overwhelm us with too much information. If we ask questions then it sets the tone letting our doctors know we want more information. Some doctors will volunteer more information than others but some wait for you to ask questions.

I wish you the best! S
