Das boobs are sore and I'm crying all the time

Hello. I would appreciate some advice and shared experiences re: breast pain and swelling..Das boobs are sore! I had my LAVH about 6 months ago...I have my ovaries still. A few weeks out I found a lump..mamo nothing, ultrasound..cysts and a folded over duct that was inflammed. The surgeon said to just keep on eye on it & not to worry. I took him up on that as I was beside myself healing from the hsyter & had another big surgery 3.5 months later. Anyway...on with this. Now I found a lump in my other breast...that one wasn't ultrasounded at the time so I requested they both get redone for that. I have small firm breasts so nothing showed on the mamo. I will probably have to wait for a few months for the ultrasound..the way it is here. sucks! (I paid for my last one).

So my breasts are sore ..so sore..just all of a sudden and it's been for like a month straight. My doc told me get evening primrose, I have, been on it about 1.5 weeks 500 mg 3 pills a day. I am considering switching doc's soon..I have been losing faith in him. I am asking anyone for suggestions as to what to do. I also cry a lot lately..new lumps don't help either right!! I am afraid to just start taking hormone creams & stuff from the health food store..what if it's the wrong thing to do? how will I know?

I appreciate your experiences & suggestions...thanks for sharing on this forum it has helped me through so far

(((guitara))) Often breast pain is a sign of estrogen dominance, especially if you have a tendency towards fibrocystic breasts, which it sounds like you may have. The most effective solution I know of is a little progesterone cream - and I mean very little. Have you tried that yet?

For more information about progesterone cream and fibrocystic breasts, Dr. Lee's books are a good source.

Thanks for your reply Linda. I see that you have been through a lot too and I'm sorry you have. I have to go for a colonoscopy at the end of the month as well (I dont' have my date set in stone yet but they said most likely end of the month). I'm feeling really overwhelmed. How do you get through it, each time I feel I've moved on, sumthing else seems to come up and... it's really hard. I am also still healing from my most recent surgery...

No I haven't tried progesterone cream. I still have my ovaries so do I still need that? Does that take a perscription to obtain? I will look into finding the Dr. Lee book..does he have just one or which do you suggest that you think would be the better of them for my situation? Thanks again, thanks for sharing it means a lot.

Das boobs are sore and I'm crying all the time

Hi again I buy my progesterone cream OTC... even the Hystersisters store sells a good one. Dr. Lee has several good books that you might find helpful. The one I have is "What Your Doctor May Not Tell You About Breast Cancer" (which is not only about cancer), but there is also one about menopause that you might find equally helpful.

About how to get through all this... I just try to distance myself from it and think about it as if it were happening to someone else. Then I just go forward and accept it - fighting it consumes too much energy.

Hang in there!

Yes Linda, I get how you cope.. I am trying to do it the same way with a few slips and spills along the way..I guess it is what it is and road rash is expected. I went to look for that book today but I will have to order it as I can't find it in the book store. I will also look for the cream and get on top of it all.

Thanks again, it makes a difference to reach out and to be heard..so thanks a bunch!!
