TVH w/anterior repair

I am having a TVH w/cyctocele repair on 1/15. I am terrifed of the post-op pain. Will it be bearable? What should I expect regarding the anterior repair? I am clueless about what to expect when I wake up. Please share with me your stories so I can know what to expect, good or bad!

Hi Katieluv, did you check out the section here 'Pelvic Floor & Bladder' ? Here you'll find a bunch of ladies in waiting and who have already been through this. However... a lot of the ladies that post here for support of issues/complications. I think many who have had successful surgeries are living life and not posting much!

Good luck!

TVH w/anterior repair

Hi Katie, welcome. I am having the same work done on Fri. with a bladder sling thrown into the mix. I know I will be set up for sitz baths four times a day. That is suppossed to help, so check with your Dr. for that. I have also purchased Tucks for cooling relief and I guess ice packs are the trick to help with swelling.
Mr. Dr. has already sent me home with anti inflamatories as well.
From what I hear, it is the repair work that is uncomfortable, but like anything it gets better. I hope that you will be able to really rest and let someone help you out. I have already been warned that I have two positions for a few weeks, walking or flat on my back to prevent any of the repairs from damage. So, I plan to take this time to rest and recouperate fully and I hope you have that luxury as well.
Good luck to you and God bless you in your recovery, we are there together, we'll be new woman soon ,

I'm having the same procedure with an additional Bladder sling on the 20th. My Doc's post-op prep information concurs with Kris'. Please be sure to check out the pre-op hyst-stories. I'm sending you and positive energy! I hope all goes well.
