posterior repair?

I don't really know what posterior repair is. I know I was scheduled for A TVH and the doctor mentioned at my last visit that I had a prolapsed uterus. Can someone please tell me what the posterior repair is? I would rather not wait 6 weeks to find out from my doctor. Thanks!

posterior repair

Hi lilbit,

No need to wait 6 weeks...please call your Dr's office and ask about this. (I'd tell you, but I'm no expert on the subject.) I'm sure that the Dr's staff can explain it well even if your Dr. is not there. I think it has something to do with strengthening the wall between the vagina and the rectum. I'm hoping others will reply who have had this done.

My very best to you...

posterior repair?

Hi lilbit

I had a TVH with posterior repair. Linda is correct: it IS the streghtening of the wall between the vagina and the rectum. in my case it was required due to the rectal prolapse.

I agree with Linda: your best approach is to call your doctor about your surgery and find out exactly what is involved in repairing the uterine prolapse.

Wishing you the best of luck. Please keep us posted.
