starting new med.
I was just put on Evamist and was wondering if anyone else is on this spray? I had a total hyst. on Dec. 4th, ovaries were taken too. I just started this med. yesterday and my arm has been itching, could this be a sign that I'm allergic to it? Thanks for any help.

I haven't used Evamist, but if the arm is itching where you sprayed it, that probably isn't a good sign. I would give the doctor a call.

I do hope you called the Dr about the itching! You certainly dont need that on top of everything else.
I think I started Evamist the same day you did. So far no itching, so far nothing else either, but we are talking a whole 2 days.
Hope you are well

starting new med. - Evamist
I am really allergic to most of the pain meds - I swell up like a big red, itchy balloon with Percocet, so that eliminates alot of pain meds for me. Tylenol is like taking 2 tick-tacks for all the good it does. I stopped taking the one they did find that worked because I felt I didnt need it any more and it seemed to cause constipation. THEN I went back to work after week 6. Horrible awful, hurt worse than I did week 1 &2. wondering if I too did way too much then and am paying the price now. I started taking the pills again in the evening after work so I could have some relief and sleep. The pain in my right side is still there. I am good in the morning , bright and cheerful, then by 2pm, its starting to pinch. By evening I can hardly stand it especially at bed time. Then we had ice & snow storm my 3rd day back to work on Wednesday, and you know I slipped - didnt fall, but caught myself. Sure enough, on Friday I realized the very bottom of my vertical incision had popped open about the size of a dime. I freaked in the ladies room at work, as there was blood on my panties, obviously not vaginal but from the incision. My boss was gracious and told me to call the doctor immediatley and I left. Doc gave me that look like "what have you been up to young lady?" and said not to worry, it wasnt uncommon. He gave me an antibiotic, told me to keep it clean & bandaged. If it wasnt closing up I would have to go to a surgeon to see why it wouldnt heal. That was a week ago. By Tuesday it still hadnt healed so I trooped off to the surgeon today. He said its just fine, had finally started to close over. One or two stitches rejected and caused like a pocket (sinus?) and it just needed to heal up on its own but there was no infection. Scare over -Praise God! It did make me slow down a bit and take it even easier than I had been. I am back in my own home alone, and am learning to except the help my friends have offered. I had stayed with my dad & sister to recover, but going back to work meant moving back home to my place 25miles from family. .There are some things I cant do alone yet, even if I am back to work. I simply can not lift the Biobricks for my wood stove without help. They store in the cellar, and I can bring up a couple at a time, but heating the house 2 bricks at a time is just silly when its 6 degrees outside. My church friends have been so kind in shoveling the snow, bringing up the wood and anything else I may have trouble with. I am truly blest and very grateful for their help and patience as this is going to take some time.
So far the Evamist isn't bad for me. I am allergic to everything else, but apparently not to this. But, I couldnt figure out why it didnt spray well. I confess to taking the packaging apart to see how it worked. (yes. picture a crazed woman, hot tempered and hot flashing, with hammer and pliers whacking the stuffing out of this plastic container! that's an image...) Sure enough, it seems like it ought to work like an asthma inhaler, but its not the same kind of mister - Its a clear plastic canister inside and it needs to be held like any other spray thing with the tube down into the liquid - so the tuba like thing needs to be up. No where in my directions did it say to hold in a certain position! Once I got the thing to spray correctly, I had much better results - no hot flashes or night sweats for about a week now. The moods have gotten much better too - no more smashing things with hammer and pliers. One thing to be grateful for! Hang in there - it will get better.
Many hugs and thanks for sharing. It helps to know we arent alone in this.
