Cool - Premerin & dizziness Premerin & dizziness

I have been on Premerin for almost 4 weeks now - took care of the night sweats totally, but I have been getting progressively more dizzy & lightheaded in the past 2 weeks to the point where I can't move around too much sometimes. Going to stop taking it for a few days & see if it helps. I really don't want to be on the Premerin either since I take a handful of meds in the am & pm and don't want to add to the mix!

Premerin & dizziness

the dizziness is one of the side effects. Why don't you just try taking less amount each time? It says you're not suppose to stop it and the restart it...cause it might cause another type of side effect. By the way, may I ask you how old you are. I'm 65 and worried about the side effects since this is an age where more side effects occur.

Premerin & dizziness

I am taking 3 mg, they did have me on 9 mg to start but reduced it. I don't think there is a lesser dosage than 3 mg. I am 47 yrs old and had a laparascopic total hysterectomy and they also had to remove part of my omentum when they were removing scar tissue from a previous surgery. I am calling my dr tomorrow to get a full blood workup to see what is going on. What other side effect is there when you stop & start it? Goodness knows I don't need anything else here. Thanks for your answer!

you'll have to read the insert of the med. then again it's possible it won't cause any side effects to you. but just read the insert or you can find information on their web site

Premerin & dizziness

I cannot get in to see my GP until next Monday to do the bloodwork tests. I have hypothyroidism and high BP - but my bp has been fine and I have no symptoms of my thyroid being off. I need to correct myself - I am on .3 mg of Premarin. I read the insert and its not real clear on what the side effects are. I also have very cystic breasts and after all I have been reading, I am not so sure that this is right for me. Other than the intense night sweats, I don't know if I have to be on this. I have not been given the ok for sex yet - so I don't know what is going to happen then. I am so nervous to have sex again, I had extremely painful sex with DH before the surgery - guess a good ole glass of wine will calm me down a bit!

I am grateful for this website and all the info I can get from it!

Premerin & dizziness

Morning! (I am in snowy NC right now!!!!) Well, last night, the body fire started up very severely - so I had to pop a Premarin and will keep taking it until I speak with my Dr. I don't think the Premarin is causing the dizziness since I was off it for 3 days - but I am not sure how long it takes to get out of your body (I am assuming 3 days due to the 3 alarm body fire last night!) I am still learning patience with my body, but I have to get back to work since I did not get paid while I have been out. And I just received an email from one of my bosses that they have to cut back my hours due to lack of funds (Real Estate). That is ok with me for the first few weeks since I don't think I will be able to work a full day - but since I have been out - I am on the ole job hunt trail now in full force. I have also revamped my website ( I am a professional organizer and now adding virtual assistant services) to try to get some extra money. (PS - I see you are from NJ - I am originally from NY and to see this snow down here is unreal!)

Premerin & dizziness

Well, I had 2 Dr appts and now I have something else to check into. My bloodwork came back fine (LDL was a bit high) Both my GP and Gyno said that the Premarin was not the cause of the dizziness - I have an appt tomorrow for a brain MRI - they suspect it is something neurological (my GP suspects MS - last Oct she also suspected it, but my neuro said the spots were due to the migraines I get. Now she is sending me to a specialist if the MRI comes back different than last year). We are going back up to the .9 on the Premarin since I am still very foggy also and the night sweats/hot flashes are coming back. Have had a rough 2 months here between work and my health- but God only gives you what you can handle!

Premerin & dizziness

Bridget, I will most definitely place you in my nitely prayers. As for the saying: God only gives you what you can handle. "Since last year I've had a hemorroidectomy, sebacious cysts removed, ear infection, bladder infection, painful and continuing sciatic/lumber pain, ears sores from skin being very dry and to top it all severe atrophic vaginitis. Now, I think God (and I'm very religious and into God every day and nite) has given me way too much for me to handle. At times I get very depressed and cry a often. I realize there are thousands of people in the whole world who are suffering much more severely then me too. But with my sciatic and A.V. combined...It's murder on my nerves. thanks for letting me vent, Bridget.
I truly, sincerely hope all goes well with your brain MRI. TRUST IN THE LORD..HAND IT ALL OVER THE GOD. that's what I keep telling myself

Oh my goodness - you are now officially on the top of my prayer list! I should not be complaining, that is a lot to have to handle. Please feel free to vent to me anytime - I will be your virtual shoulder to lean on! I feel quite calm since I have handed this over to God - between the money issues I have and the medical junk going on - I need Him to take over - I am way too tired!! Just got word last week that my office has to cut my hours due to the economy - and I still have not received all of my medical bills yet. Not getting paid while I have been out for the surgery has been stressful (gyno wanted to keep me out another 2 weeks but I told him I at least have to go back part time.

Again, my prayers are with you that you become strong and healthy for the new year, and remember - you have a HysterSister to vent to!!
