Question about return to intimacy

im am mortified to be asking this but i need to know, and its not as if your my neighbours or anything.

right here we go.....

So,I know its nothing in side the vagina for 6/8 weeks.I understand we can do over the top action and treat our husbands to the delights only given on birthdays and christmas but, what if i have an Orgasm?? will that cause me problems.Ive had my womb and cervix removed.Im not bragging but i get know.....when we kiss.
Its a case of if i get all aroused and its going to do me harm then im not going to give my hubbyness the early christmas treats that he must be longing for.

runs into corner

You are TOO funny Mrs. Nansee -- Thanks for asking the questions we all have in our heads. I had my surgery on the same day as you, so I'm anxiously awaiting the experienced replies from our hyster-sisters!!

Also glad to see (from your other post) that you are having a good day and enjoying an English snowstorm!!

Question about return to intimacy

Ok Mrs Nansee you can come out of the corner now!! Definitely not a question I'd be asking my neighbours either!!

It's hard to put this into the right words so anyway...

Hopefully an O won't do any damage cos if it does I'm in trouble!! Yep had one the other night after little or no action on poor DH part, I didn't break any rules i.e. nothing went in or even close to where it wasn't supposed to go! So I think you can kiss away and enjoy. BTW I had my TAH but kept my ovaries too.

Take care

Question about return to intimacy

Hi Mrs Nansee!

It sounds like your recovery is going great so far! The question you have is one commonly asked. Did you know there is an entire page designed to help members with their post-op sexual activity concerns? It’s located here:

Post-Op Sex Checkpoint

Do yourself a favor and take a read there! You will discover lots of information covering many sexual concerns post-hysterectomy patients have. Some patients are required to have complete pelvic rest during their recovery period, while others are allowed by their doctor to engage in non-penetrative sexual activity. It is important that you ask your own physician what's permitted for you. Every patient’s recovery situation is unique based on the reason for surgery, the type of hysterectomy they had, and other factors. Before doing anything, be smart and find out what’s allowed for you.

Many and Best Wishes,

Question about return to intimacy

You ladies are a hoot!!!

I was afraid to even look at my DH for weeks let alone think about "pleasuring him". I remember about a week or two after surgery he gave me one of his looks and said that it had been a very long time, to which I responded "sorry dear but your on your own". But I must say that my libido did pick it up a few notches and it was difficult holding back but I was a real chicken

I did do my Kegel exercises everyday and my recovery has gone very well, so looking back I can definitely say that I made my poor DH suffer for no reason.

Well we have definitely made up for lost time since I was given the go ahead a my six week, though I was still
chicken and waited another whole week, poor DH LOL

But when in doubt call your doctor and ask about outside stimulation, believe me they have heard it all before, and it's much easier over the phone than in person.

Good luck

Question about return to intimacy

I was really afraid of whether arousal would be painful for me, so I didn't do anything to my husband that might cause me to become the least bit interested. Definitely ask your doctor, but some women report having lovely dreams during their early post-op weeks so maybe it would be okay. Meanwhile, it sounds like your husband is going to be one happy man.

Question about return to intimacy

WooooHooooo i love this board...LOL...ill tell ya....i am going to my 6 week on friday the 6th and told my hubby to be ready for some hot and heavy stuff when he gets home.....LOL...I can not resist him right now. Dont know if it is the whole "you cant do it" that makes me want him even more....We have been very touchy feely and i had a big O last week...had a little cramping the next day but i felt fine after that. I say go for it and be touchy long as there is nothing in the vajaja.....and see how you feel.
