Ovca Recurrence Symptoms ?

For you ladies who have had an ovca recurrence, what were your symptoms? Also, has anyone had a scan that didn't show recurrence but they did? Could a scan dx a lymphocyst and it actually turn out to be a recurrence? I appreciate any info. you can give me. Thanks!

Scans show all kinds of things that can be scary, desertday. Wait for the interpretation. For me, my CA125 begins to rise by doubling with each test. By the time it reaches around 80 I am having some discomfort and ascites is beginning to build up in my abdomen. Frequent urination or leaking is a sign of pressure increasing as well. After that it is pretty much down hill for me until treatment begins.

Hi Faith. I am in lots of pain in my right pelvis but I can't tell where it is coming from. I have wondered if was somehow my back or hip radiating pain but even massage can't locate the pain. I can't seem to find where the pain is coming from but I feel a heavy pressure. I've tried stretching, heat...everything but no relief. My reg. 3 month check is in a month. I am just trying to figure out if what I am feeling is typical of recurrence. Thanks for responding!

Hi again, can you call your doc and see if you can get in sooner. Tell him your concerns. Maybe even get bloodwork done sooner to see those results? It would take some pressure off you rather than wait a whole other month and then if it is or might be, still need to schedule bloodwork, possible CT scan and begin treatment if necessary even later after that. Just a thought.

I put off responding to this until after my appointment yesterday. I wanted to be sure my recurrence really is a recurrence, and where it is (if anythign showed up on my scans).

I've had lower right pelvic pain (and associated low back pain) since last July. In August, my CA125 was up to 100, adn a "cyst-like" thing showed up on my scans int eh lowere right pelvis. BUT in October I had a follow-up PET/CT to find out if there was anythign else going on anywhere. Taht scan was negative -- even the "cyst-like" thing was gone, and my ca125 dropped to 65. Now my CA125 is up to 162, adn I still have that same pain occasionally, but my new scans showed a liver tumor, whcih is causing me absolutely NO symptoms. And I don't have any ascites. The general consensus is that my pelvic pain is probably due to scar tissue.

In short -- not all "cysts" on scans mean anything untoward even in the presence of symptoms like pain, and not all recurrences have symptoms attached to them at first. CA125 results can be pretty flaky. So, call and get an earlier appointment if you're concerned, but try not to fret about the pain being a recurrence. Chances are good it's not.
