What is a cuff?

A cuff is where the surgeon stitched up the top of the vagina.

What is a cuff?

If you have your cervix removed it is the surgical repair of the top of the vagina. If you had a vaginal procedure you will have a vaginal cuff, some abdominal procedures (LSH or partial abdominal)retain the cervix so you will not have a vaginal cuff. No question is dumb

What is a cuff?

Hi Cheri--I'm 6 weeks post-op, and I've had three internal exams already. I was terrified that it would hurt, but I was as comfortable as I could possibly be (considering that I was wearing a paper dress and had my feet in stirrups). In fact, these were the three most comfortable internal exams in my life.

If the doctor checks you there, it's because she wants to make sure that there is no infection and that you are healing well. Last week, my doctor pulled out the last suture for me, and I was so reassured to know that my tissue had knitted all back together nicely.
