Hubby Humor--Good for a Laugh

Playing the comedian is my hubby’s method of handling adverse situations. First I must say my hubby’s been great, very supportive.

I had a vaginal hysterectomy with an A&P repair, perinealplasty, etc., in other words I’m stitched top, front, back & bottom. I’m over 7 weeks, but still having problems.

He get this huge grin on his face & asks, “So tell me, when are the ‘Under Construction’ signs going to be removed from Franken-vagina?” He used did use a more colorful word for vagina.

I haven't laughed so hard in quite a while!

Hubby Humor--Good for a Laugh

Oh, thank you for sharing that! My husband's been asking me how I feel every day, and I'm thinking that's code for something. My doctor cleared me earlier this week for sex any time, but I'm not quite ready to mention that to the guy sitting on the other side of the room right now.

Funny! I'm glad your DH was able to make you laugh.....after all, they say laughter is the best medicine!

And while we're on the subject of funny things that DH's say, mine came into our room the other day while I was getting dressed. He told me he was in the mood to go to Benihana for dinner. I didn't think anything of it until he also said he had a craving for one of their drinks that comes in the 'Buddah' shaped glass. That's when I realized he was making fun of me.....my bald head and squishy belly reminded him of a Buddah! I then told him to rub my belly and make a wish. I won't tell you what he wished for, but I will tell you that he didn't get it!

Hubby Humor--Good for a Laugh

Humor can always lighten the atmosphere. I was having trouble with some bloody drainage after they took my vag pack out the first day. Everytime I stood up blood would run down my leg (following the path of the catheter) even though I had a huge pad between my legs. The nurse and I figured out why it kept running down that she suggested sticking a 4x4 (gauze) up there around the other side of the catheter. My DH eyes got huge and said, "A 4x4????? Up there?" We all got a chuckle once I explained to him that we were not talking "lumber."

Take care,

I love this thread!!!! SOH, I love that code. I am going to use it all the time now. Hopefully I will get some of it, too. I think I should get some of that yellow "caution" tape next time I am at Home Depot. I can put a strip of it on his side of the bed, since I'll be in there on my side and he still can't have any of it. Mindy
