Hi! I am new to the group and I an trying to get information about hormones for women age 30-35. I am about 2 months from my surgery, no kids, newly married with an extensive background of surgeries and pain from endometriosis. This all so new to me and I am looking for books directed at my age group. Any suggestions?

welcome to hystersisters...I'm so glad you found us. I would start by posting over on the hormone jungle. Just click on this link and it will take you there:

You also may want to check out "The Road Less Traveled Forum" just click on this link:

There are many women (including myself) still doing battle with the horrid Endo, even post hyst.

Also check out they have a very good selection of books...

Good luck in your search...and we'll look forward to getting to know you better...

Welcome! I am 28 and had my TAH/BSO on 8/10/01 for severe endometriosis. I found a book at the local Library - Dr. Susan Love's Hormone Book.

As far as the endo. After having a hyst, there still may be leftover endo. I am not taking hormones for at least 6 months. Hormones basically "feed" the endo. that remains.

Your best bet is to find a hormone book - read through it - and ask the dr. any questions you may have.

Best of luck to ya!

Unfortunately, there is very little written about *surgical* menopause, which is much different thant *natural* menopause. Some books touch lightly on the subject, but the best thing for you would be to go to, and read the information there. The information relates mainly to surgical menopause.
