2nd Time Around - Part 2

I finally got back the results of all my lab tests and scans. My breast cancer is in the soft tissues on the left side of my abdomen. There are seedlings all over from what I can tell. The good news is that there was nothing in the breast, bone scan or cat scan. Lungs are also fine so it looks like a very early catch. I've started on Arimidex and haven't had any problem with it. When I went for surgery follow-up today, everything was good. The Dr gave me samples of Fosomex and Prosac. I think he believes that if I'm not depressed, I should be. I've been really tired and I'm not sure if it's from surgery or depression so I'll give it a try. I start back to work full time on the 4th. So far, so good! Thanks for everyone's support.

Hugs Gwynnsie!!!

Your results sound very good for the most part.! And how wonderful that this was caught early !! Thats really good news!!! What a relief it must be for you that the breast, CT scan and bone scan were clear!!

I am sure your tiredness is a combination of both the surgery and your state of mind, you have been through a rough time of it, but hopefully after hearing this good news, your spirits will be better now. I hope the Arimidex is not giving you too many side effects.

All in all it certainly sounds like the results are better than you had thought they may be which is so great!

All the best and please keep us posted on how you are doing Gwynnsie!!
I will keep you in my prayers!!
Hugs!!

Thank goodness that this was caught early and things are going well for you!! Between surgery and the worries, it is very understandable for depression to begin. I hope that the meds help you and know that we are here for you as well!!

2nd Time Around - Part 2

Gwynnsie,

That's good news, catching it so early! I'm taking megistral for endometrial cancer, and it has caused some bad moods. The Dr. increased my Celexa (antidepressant), and I'm doing so much better. Antidepressants are really multi-functional - not just for depression, but also assist with how we can handle pain. They're used widely in long-term care facilities and seem to work well, vs. pain meds that depressed activity, and tended to knock the patient out.

I'm having radiation treatment, and the side effects aren't too much fun. However, the antidepressant places me in such a good mood, that most of the time I don't care!

Hope this helps! Good luck to you!

I'm so glad to hear your tests results. I can imagine what a relief that must have been to get your CT results. I am so sorry you had to go through this again though.

It sounds like you're doing well following your surgery. I can certainly remember being very tired for quite a while. Try to get as much rest as you can before starting back to work.

I hope the new meds continue to work well and not cause you any discomfort. Please keep us posted on how you are doing when you can.

I'll keep you in my prayers.

{{Hugs}}
