Crazy Shaking 1 1/2 years post-op

Hi I have had pretty severe shaking since my hysterectomy in sept 2007. My Doc has no idea what it could be. Have had blood test after blood test and still no answer. Also have gained alot of weight and deal with sore rock hard breast for 3 weeks out of every month?

Hi

to HysterSisters.

I'm so sorry you have been sufferring with this. A little more information would help others share their experiences with you.

Could you tell us if you still have your ovaries? Are you currently using HRT, and if so, what kind? And, how old are you?

Very often, Doctor's have to be sleuths. Some are better at this than others, and they all have their areas of special interest where they are more aware of current trends and treatments. Another Dr, who specializes in HRT, may be better able to help you with this.

I hope you find your answers soon.

s,
Kay

Re: Crazy Shaking 1 1/2 years post-op

As far as I know, Shaking is not a hormone imbalance symptom.

Shaking can be caused by other things though, I did a google search on "shaking symptoms" and got a lot of possibilities.

I hope you can find the answers you need.

Hi Four*ten,
I get occasional shaking, like an internal shakiness. If you go on power-surge.com one of its formums has shaking on it. You may find some insight there. The shaking is also listed on the front page under articles. I had the very nasty electrical shocks in my head and in my body, mostly in my head. I thought I was losing it** That specific symptom that no dr figured out is listed on the 34 symptoms of menopause lists on the internet that women have compiled. I took estrogen and natural progesterone and that went away and did not come back unless I am very physically stressed or extremely tired.
I wondering if the shaking is an adrenal thing. I get weak and shaky and I think its my adrenals not functioning up to par. I did once go to an NP and pharmacist that ran a "hormone program" together. She prescribed, he made the compounds. They told me by my saliva results that my adrenals were weak and not keeping up with having to make hormones. I was shaky, weak, and my hormones never quite up to par. they wanted me to take adaptagenic herbs that help heal the adrenals. I did not. I don't do well with herbs and am very sensitive to meds so Iopted for the hormones only. Maybe you can consider going to a natural pathic or holistic dr. that is more tuned in to and aware of adrenal function. Hope I helped. check out the power-surge.com site. I wonder if natural progesterone will calm you down and ease the shaking? It helps me alot.

Re: Crazy Shaking 1 1/2 years post-op

I have found the shaking you speak of to get much worse if I consume sugar. It's so noticeable that there's no doubt it's a trigger for me. For instance, if I eat something for dessert and then go to bed, the next morning when I wake up it is horrible. Sometimes it's just 30 mins after I eat it.

Oh, and only if I'm not taking adequate hormones. If I have enough hormones, it doesn't happen at all.

Re: Crazy Shaking 1 1/2 years post-op

I get like a chills type feeling when my progesterone takes a sudden dump. I use a little compounded progesterone for a few weeks and it goes away. I still have a small piece of my left ovary and my levels are usually stable but being only 40 I am still prone to hormonal "shifts". I take soy estroven and only use the progesterone when I feel these chills, lack of sex drive, fatigue no energy and depression are some of the other symptoms when I have a progesterone drop. Hope this helps.
