breasts, all ways in pain

My breasts are enlarged, swollen and hurt all the time.

Have been switching around my bras, going bra less at night, taking evening primrose oil, placing a spot of idone on each breast daily, progesterone cream, changing my vivile patch once a week. Just read the post about cabbage with interest.

Had hysterectomy when I was 28, now 51. How many times do we wish we never had that done? Doc said I had to b/c of endou., makes me wonder if I even had that. I am at the point in my life were I don't believe the Docs, nor do I trust them. Bottom is money in their pockets.

Don't have insurance, (sf lost job, lost insurance, lost our future) to get hormone levels tested. I know I am either way to high or to low on estorgen. I am about ready to take of the patch and say forget it to everything else I am trying.!

I know I need to stay positive, but it is to much! Worry about everything, scared and feeling hopless.

Need words of encourgement.

If you have had or still do have breast pain would love to hear from you.

so much more, ramble, ramble . . . . . . .[/size]

Re: breasts, all ways in pain

My breasts have been tender since my hysterectomy, even though I went from a 46G to a 44D after surgery. Because of my cancer diagnosis and I am at high risk for BRCA, I haven't done HRT for several years. Recently, I finally went decaf, even to the point of giving up my beloved chocolate, and it has made a tremendous difference. Lots more comfortable now, although on ocassion they still become very firm. I am working on losing weight and will be interested to see if the girls continue to get firm as I lose weight and the estrogen the weight produces.

Re: breasts, all ways in pain

I had very painful fibrosystic breasts for years...until I got off caffeine completely. It can make a WORLD of difference!

My breasts used to hurt so badly every day that it was painful even taking off my bra. Not only has the pain gone away, they say that the cysts often go away when you get off caffeine, too. I guess I'll find out this year with my mammogram.

Talking - breasts, all ways in pain Re: breasts, all ways in pain

I have some wonderful news. Told my doc about my breast pain and she said there was a study on using vitamin A. Said I could do up to 30,000 I.U. a day. I started with 8000 I.U. pre day then increased that to two at 16,000 I.U. pre day. I am also taking evening primrose oil 500mg every day. The difference is amazing my breast don't hurt.Just a feeling of fullnes at times. I have also taken off my patch, I feel my body was telling me its time to let nature take its course. I'm not having any real problems, I had some hot flashes for a few months, now I get one once a week or less. I do have some vaginal dryness that I treat with Vitamin E inserted vaginal and progesterone that I also insert couble of times a week. Life is alot better then when I first posted about my breast pain.
