Stage 1A1 treatment options?

Is there anyone out there who was diagnosed (or knows someone who was diagnosed) with cervical cancer, stage and grade 1A1, that had local excision only. In other words, did not go on to have a hysterectomy. I have heard that in some cases, especially in younger women, that an aggressive cone or trachelectomy is an option with an early stage diagnosis. If so, how are you doing now?

Re: Stage 1A1 treatment options?

Mine is adenocarcinoma in situ, and whilst I know this is not stage 1A1, the gyn/onc who is treating me (conservatively) has said that he is also treating many women with 1A1 the same, and has actually seen some of them go and have children.

It's the hardest choice, but for the time being I am happy for my treatment to be conservative and will revisit my thoughts on a Hysterectomy in six months time (after another colposcopy).

I'm in Perth, Australia by the way!
