Bump under top of incision

Hi everyone,

I had a TAH on March 11. My staples came out on March 29 and the incision is healing s l o w l y...there is one spot by my belly button (in a skin fold) that is being a pain but it is getting better.

The other day, I noticed a bump under the top part of my incision the other day, about the size of an egg, that stings when I do too much, like bending over.

I have a call into my doctor but they are out all week. My GP felt it and said that it isn't an infection or a hernia.

Anyone else have anything like this?

Re: Bump under top of incision

Perhaps it is an area where more work was done during your surgery, ie, where your ovary was or where a cyst was removed?

Re: Bump under top of incision

I have a knot..I call it...at my incision. My doctor told me it was from the clamp they used to spread me open. And that it was scar tissue. For a while it was very hard...now it is starting to soften up a bit. She also told me it would always be there.

Re: Bump under top of incision

Both are good points and would explain the pain/stinging.

Ok, I think I can stop freaking out now...

Thanks so much for the input!
