what can i wear around my stomach for swelling and what can i do to tone stomach

i have been reading about the swelly belly band. i had lavh kept cervix and both ovaries. i have a lot of swelling. i want something to support my stomach whie i am healing but will not make me feel uncomfortable. i do not want my stmach to sag anymore than it is now. i also want to know what can i do to tone my stomach muscles again.

Did you ask your doctor if a binder would be okay for you? We do sell one in the HysterSister Store! We also have support panties that some ladies find help support their tummies.

Until your doctor clears you, I would not suggest any exercises to tone your stomach muscles. You want to be sure you are completely healed so you don't end up with complications. Your doctor may have some suggestions for toning those muscles when you are released for exercising!

The best thing I bought for myself was control panel panties. They are the bomb! I have found them to be wonderful now that I am walking around more. They support your tummy, and they help me with my swelling and pain. I felt more comfortable wearing them during the day when I am up and around.

I think that the bands are awesome. They really make it easier to be on your feet a bit longer without that need to carry your stomach as you are walking. Don't worry about your abs yet. It is too soon to risk undoing what the stitches are trying to accomplish.

I tried support panties, but found most of them uncomfortable. So I pretty much left my swelly belly to be as it was and tried not to interfere with it too much.

I was told no core exercises until 6 weeks and even with the daily movement to not use abs too much. I know some women do not even get released to full core workouts at 6 weeks. I was told I can start, but carefully. Never have I had as little ab strength. I had to start working out and streching very carefully, cardio is fine, but when I sat down on the mat, it was really hard and frustrating. I am doing a little more each day, but it will be a long process. Which I am OK with.

In general there is very little you can do to minimise the swelling. Just the usual story of lots of rest, some walking and healthy diet does not hurt either. My belly is always smaller in the mornings, which is a clear sign that rest helps.
