Anyone using Evamist

Started on premarin after surgery changed to vivelle dot about 1 yr ago doing good worked up to .1, 2 x week. Reaction to adhesive worsening over the last 6 months BIG red whelps, intense itching and patch just falling off . Been using hydrcort. cream to no avail. Have had to take daily dose of Alavert .Red marks last for days after removing patch. I am determined to stay on a transdermal. Called doc yesterday and nurse is going to bring me some samples of Evamist to try. Anybody had good results ?

Re: Anyone using Evamist

Yes, I too tried vivelle dot but the Evamist has been a god sent. I love the spray. Seems like perfume and has a nice light scent that does'nt linger long. Also, you control the dosing. I have found two sprays work best for me, however, we are all different. I had light headaches when I first started that went away after about a week. My Dr. told me it was the latest, greatest thing to hit the market and I have to agree. It's great!!

Re: Anyone using Evamist

I was prescribed this today... This is my first intro to HRT and my doc also spoke wonders about the Evamist... I have to say its easy to apply and I definately did not want oral, so was considering the patch... I hope this works for me and would be interested in hearing of others are using it or have tried it...

Re: Anyone using Evamist

Like the patch, the Evamist is transdermal, so it does'nt pass through the liver and put undue stress on it. I find the Evamist easy, and gives me the knowledge that it is truly being applied and I am getting the right dose. The Vivelle Dot .5 patch, I applied just below my bikini line and felt like I was washing away the hormones when I showered. I have some mild hot flashes on the Dot where on the Evamist, none. You can use up to three sprays. I started with one and found two did the trick. You have control. Only down side might be travelling with it although it looks similiar to an asthma inhaler. I hope to make the switch to natural one day but for now want all the relief I can get.

Re: Anyone using Evamist

I got the evamist today. Due to change patch in the morning, I guess I just use the Evamist instead. Hope it works cause I am tired of the red, itching whelps on my behind.

Re: Anyone using Evamist

I started having them before surgery so I was familiar but in denial. Vivelle Dot seems to be the old reliable, but in this case the new kid on the block might be your best option. As I have learned from other sisters, you want to give any hormone a 3 month try before starting a new one. I think the acception to this rule is if you are having a reaction such as what we both have experienced from the patches. Either that or my Class "A" is kicking in and I am making up the rules again! Just some food for thought. Talk to you soon. Robyn

Re: Anyone using Evamist

been on evamist 9 days, I have been "burning up" since the third day. went to 3 sprays 2 days ago. I have noticed that I am not retaining fluid the way I was on the dot. I have lost 6 lbs in the last week. I can finally get my rings on. Do you use in the morning ? Wonder what would happen if I did 2 in the am and 1 at night. I am still waking up on "fire" at 3am til I get up at 6:15. I am feeling better though, the red marks are almost gone.

Re: Anyone using Evamist

I meant to ask my Dr. if I can seperate the sprays. The label says No! I know you want to keep on a very regimented schedule to try and keep your hormones levelled out. I spray mine on at 7 PM and, although I get a few mild flashes 9-10PM, I sleep thru the night.
