how much does a uterus weigh?

I am new here. My surgery is scheduled for next Friday, the 22nd. The reason for my question is that I joined WW 9 months ago and lost 50#... I met my goal weight, and I didn't know it the removal is going to put me under goal.... which WW will readjust if this happens. I didn't want to lose anymore weight. I was curious about it and loss of fluids, etc. Did any of you lose anything? I don't have any fibroids that would weigh.... just the uterus. Thanks in advance.....

Re: how much does a uterus weigh?

Hard to tell what info is trustworthy, but I've read anywhere from less than a pound to about 2 pounds.

Re: how much does a uterus weigh?

My dr told me that a normal uterus weighs just a few ounces.

I lost a few pounds right at first after my surgery. But my weight has been pretty stable since then.

Best wishes.

Thanks for asking this question. I have been wondering the same thing myself.

Re: how much does a uterus weigh?

I was told that the normal uterus weighs around 2.5 ounces. Mine weighed about 1.25 POUNDS when it was removed due to fibroids. At my 4 week check-up I had lost 8 pounds. Best of luck to you.
