Hmmmm granulation... but surgery was 11-29-2005

Yeh, you read that date right. 2005.

Granted, I didn't not have a yearly exam since early 2007. (Bad bad bad bad bad idea, I know... I've beat myself up over it... moving on.)

Anyways... I had an LAVH with minor complications in 2005. Due to excess bleeding post op I needed vaginal packing, extra 36 hours in the hospital... blah blah blah. Each visit post op resulted in silver nitrate treatment for multiple areas of granulation. All in all I needed 4 extra post op visits to take care of the continued bleeding.

I was a bit surprised today to hear her say I had quite a few areas that needed treatment. SIX swabs later... we were done. And yes, I'm one of those people that it does indeed burn quite a bit. (And I'm not a weenie, I swear!)

I didn't think much about it... but now that I'm home. Well, I'm wondering, "What the heck?!" Why would I still have these areas showing up 3.5 years later? I didn't think to go into detail. I'm usually such a big advocate for my kid's care... but the doc and I were chatting up my impending move and well... I didn't push the 'why' at the office.

I will call her back Monday to see if she has a few seconds to talk and give me more info.

Google is being somewhat helpful. But I was wondering if anyone else had continued issues with this?

Thanks so much.

I had granulation, but not past a year post op. You might do a Search and see what may come up on it. I know we have had others who have had granulation past a year.
