3 1/2 weeks post LAVH... concerns

Hello, I am new to the forum and was curious of a couple things. One: I qam 3 1/4 weeks s/p LAVH and am experiencing cramps and bleeding (brownish in color) regularly. Is this normal? Also I went back to work last week which put me at 3 weeks s/p. Could that be the reason for complications? Did anyone else have to return to work so soon after their procudure and if so, how did you handle the stress?

Re: 3 1/2 weeks post LAVH... concerns

i'm 4 weeks post TAH - been having spotting on and off - during the first couple of weeks it was pink, but has gradually gotten darker and more brown. lately it's almost a light brown color. It's been very minimal all along.

Cramping all along, but due to bowel movements, it doesn't feel like my periods used to.

I have been working since week 2, but luckily for me, I'm a computer programmer, and they set me up with a laptop so I can work from home.

As for the stress, I take a nap at lunch! I don't know how that would work for you, but it does wonders on being able to let go of the big mess that they like for me to clean up as far as the programming goes.

Maybe if you can - turn the ringer on your phone off. Only answer the phone if it's your boss.

I can't imagine having to sit up for 8 - 9 hours straight even now! I get short of breath after two hours!

Hugs and healing light your way!

Re: 3 1/2 weeks post LAVH... concerns

I am 6 weeks out from my LAVH and feeling great ;-)

I think you are doing too much going back to work so soon. I know that in your "mind" you don't feel all that bad and think that you should be able to handle this. But let me tell you, you ARE still weak. Your body has not gotten over the shock yet. You will continue to feel better, but have to rest. I went wild after my 2 week check and wore myself out so bad that I didn't get out of bed for two days. My suggestion (if at all possible) cut back to half days for about a week or so. Then gradually work back to full time. You only have one "you", don't break her trying to make everyone else happy.

Take car and God bless!

Re: 3 1/2 weeks post LAVH... concerns

Thank you for your replies. I am continuing to have complications and am returning to my gyn the day after tomorrow if I can last that long. The bleeding has become quite heavy and the cramping much worse as well as fatigue, chills, nausea and weakness. Your replies give me hope that maybe I just need a little more down time and me time. Thank you again.
