From Vivelle to Biest - comparison?

I recently switched from Vivelle 0.1 mg (was making me hyper and anxious) to Biest 0.5 mg twice a day.

In addition, I am taking Estriol tablet 1 mg inside vagina 3 times a week.

I used to have low back pain (left side) but now I seem to have pain all over my lower back ie more pain than before. How does the Biest dosage + Estriol tablet compare to Vivelle? Could it be the estrogen dosage is too low?

Thanks for your response. Be well.

Have you had hormone levels checked recently? My low back/joint pains are worst when my estradiol level is low.

Hello Clypso. thanks for your response. I haven't had my hormones checked till I switched to Biest on May 23. Figured it was too early. I see you had your hysterectomy in 1999. How long did it take for you to find balance? I had my hysterectomy in Feb 2008 and I am still working on it. Very frustrating....

I had the hysterectomy in 1999 but left ovaries. Had them removed Oct 2008. Took about 6 months before I felt close to normal. I did have testing of estradiol levels after about 3 months though to see how things were going.

Re: From Vivelle to Biest - comparison?

I am in the same situation...I changed from the vivelle dot .1 to Bi-est..
I just starting taking my dose all at once...and I have been feeling better...I am really sensitive to fluctuations.
For me it was a mood thing more.

The Bi-est...is made up of two estrogens as opposed to the vivelle dot which is just estrogen.

FDL
I use and have used bi est for about 5 years now. It has worked well for me. One thing to keep in mind when changing or adjusting hrt is that it can take the body some time to adjust to the changes. Some symptoms can be from a fluctuation in your levels as your body adjusts. It is generally a good idea to give any change at least 4-6 weeks. Keeping a journal of your symptoms is also a good idea.
