Pain meds 2 weeks post op

I have been placed on Premarin since going home from the hospital. My hot flashes have subsided since going on the medication. However, I do have night sweats frequently. I have this weird taste in my mouth all the time and have a weird warmth sensation in my throat. It sounds very minor but it is very annoying! Also, I have changes in my taste for certain foods. The thought of anything fried makes me ill and I am craving fruits and vegetables. That is a plus I guess! I have always been a healthy eater but this is to the extreme! I've never been much of a water drinker but I CRAVE it now! Another plus! Did anyone else still require pain meds 2 and 1/2 weeks post-op? I am grateful for this website. Makes me feel not so alone!

I too am six weeks out and am still taking my pain meds. I hoping next week will be better. At two and half weeks I couldn't even think about not taking them.

Re: Pain meds 2 weeks post op

Am on OTC meds, but sure wish I could be on something stronger. But, after 2 weeks on 'em, I started to get sick of feeling woozy in the head.

Re: Pain meds 2 weeks post op

I am almost 2.5 weeks out and I am still taking one percocet in the morming.

I wake up and wait... My insides slowly wake up and a wave of pain comes, I ride it and find it is too much I take my one percocet for the day. Today's pain was not as bad, the previous waves of pain were almost too much, left me gasping and holding my poor abdomen. Today's was a bit better I hope it is a trend.

Re: Pain meds 2 weeks post op

I am almost 6 weeks post op and still need a pain pill every now and then. I am down to lortab though. For the past couple of days I have really been sore and have been taking ibuprofen during the day and my lortab later in the day or at night.

Re: Pain meds 2 weeks post op

Hi ladies,
I stopped taking the Percocet 2 days after I came home due to SEVERE constipation. That was by far worse than any pain from the incision or After that it was Tylenol only as I am allergic to ibuprofen. Two extra strength Tylenol every 4-6 hours did the trick without the side effects. Of course, I did keep the Percocet "just in case" but I never needed it.
Hope everyone is doing well and healing!
