labia fused (adhesion)
Wow, I really hope someone can help, or has heard of this...I had my TAH/BSO 2 years ago, I've been taking .0625 premarin. Since my hysterectomy, I have had 2 other unrelated surgeries (back surgery 6 months ago)
Here's the problem:
I have been experiencing stinging pain in my vagina, like it was scratched or cut, for months. It ususally was after using the restroom & wiping, so I attributed it to cheap toilet paper, etc.
Well, today after my shower, I began to explore with the aide of a mirror, and noticed that the folds on both sides of my labia have fused together! The pain I feel is it being pulled apart!!
From what I can tell from my internet search, this is more common with baby girls, and is treated with estrogen cream..it has to do with lack of estrogen down there & the skin sticking.
I am so freaked out right now, I can barely function & the fact that there is nothing out there about it is making it worse. Has anyone either experienced this ot heard of it?
I know I need to go to my GYN but this problem has me quite embarrassed & scared.
If this should be posted elsewhere, plz let me know

Re: labia fused (adhesion)
Hello Tatiyana,
Your post caught my eye and maybe I can help you...I had my TAH/BSO 7 years ago, I'm on Bi-est, Prometrium and Vagifem. I was experiencing terribly, terribly itching, burning, and pain, figuring it was a yeast infection I treated myself with one of the OTC yeast treatments. It only got worse, so off to my uro/gyn, I was absolutely surprised to find out I had Lichens Sclerosis. It is thought to be caused by hormonal or immune problems.
My uro/gyn gave me Clobestrol (prescription steroid) to use daily for 2 weeks and then as needed...he didn't give me anymore info. I did that, but when I reduced the frequency of the steroid my symptoms came back with a vengeance. I did my own research and found a terrific site though Yahoo Groups..Lichens Sclerosis. On that site I discovered how many, many women are treating this Lichens (one of the problems in not treating the Lichens is fusing of the labias, both major and minor).
I would strongly encourage you to check into that site, you will need to see your doctor but you can go into your appointment with a boat load of knowledge. Good luck and keep us posted!
Diana
