how long to wait who to see

I had a TAH/BSO July 16, 2001
I started out on Premarin .625
Switched to Cenestin .625, now @ .9 for past two weeks.
My surgeon is a gyn/oncologist. Since there was no cancer, thank god, she won't be seeing me. My question is do I go to an ob/gyn (whom I haven't seen in years) or my family doctor about my hormone problems. I was told by the surgeon to wait 4 weeks, which is 2 more, to see if the new dosage helps.
But the last two weeks have been unbearable..I have severe crying spells, and terrible pain in different, and multiple joints, and being intimate isn't all that great.
Any help would be appreciated.
PS Going back to work at 6 weeks wasn't too bad.

For some reason, the type of doctor is not all that important. What is really important is how "up" they are on hrt. If your gyn. is heavy into obstetrics, sometimes they are not the best choice.

I have found that compounding pharmacists are the best source for hrt info. and also doctor recommendations. See if you can find one close to you. They are usually very informative and a great source.
