Re: Pain increasing on right side

i'm sorry you are hurting! did you call the doctor? the same thing happened to me 8 days out- went to the doc and he did a culture to make sure i didn't have an infection..... said it was probally spasms and my body waking and rearranging... my pain still comes and goes, i see it more when i do too much! as far as the frequent urination, that has finally stopped! i hope you feel better....

Re: Pain increasing on right side

I think we are probably much more aware of our bladders feeling full because we are so sore inside.

I'm now 12 days post-op and my bladder seems to be calming down some. The need to urinate is still there because I'm drinking so much water, but it doesn't hurt like it did in the beginning - that used to be what woke me up at night & what made me get out of the bed in the morning for more pain meds.

My pain seems to be bouncing from left to right - I kept my ovaries & I'm not sure why that area would hurt, but it seems to coincide. Maybe it's just abdominal muscles that aren't used to being used since I'm trying not to strain the lower muscles?

An ice pack really helps. My Dr said it was ok as long as I kept my incision area dry.

I would definitely call my Dr if I thought I had an infection. Real Cranberry Juice (not "cocktail") is excellent to help prevent UTIs.

Re: Pain increasing on right side

That sounds like what is going on with me. My pain is on the left though. It looks like I was cut lopsided because my belly pops out more on that side. It feels and looks swollen. I also have to go to the bathroom alot. I just keep drinking more water. The girls that made replys to your post seemed to suggest some helpful things to do.

Re: Pain increasing on right side

Thanks for the suggestion of cranberry juice. I didn't even think of that. I am calling my mom right away to request it because she is at the store. Thanks!!
