I'm a mess...is it still possible for lap surgery?

I have had several surgeries in the past for endo and ovarian cysts...had a baby c-section...Now I have fibroids, scar tissue, adhesions I'm sure..and ovarian cycts. They want to try lap fist...how realistic is this. This doc is one of the best in the west and hasn't had to open anyone up in over a year. Has anyone else been as big a mess as me and still been able to go the less invasive way?
I just hate this...

Is the DR an endometriosis specialist, or a gyn oncologist? Given the complicated situation you're in, I would be consulting not just one specialist but two or three to get a consensus of opinion.

I agree - speak with specialists if you haven't, and more of them if you have.

I had a similar history, having had 5 abdominal surgical procedures in 8 years, the last one being performed by an endo specialist. It did buy me far more time than the previous ones had - I was pain free for 2+ years, and very functional for another year and a half or so after the pain started to return. I then went through another five years of misery before deciding to have a LAVH/BSO recently.

I'm confident that it was the right decision for me, but quite sure it's not the answer for everybody. Seek some additional inputs and inquire on alternatives and success rates when using them with each doc you speak with.

I'll pray for your peace of mind and a great reduction in your pain as you travel the road to what will surely be one of the biggest decisions of your life!

Are you asking if it is possible to have a laproscopic hysterectomy? Or just a lap surgery to clean up endo?
Personally I would go with the Laproscopic hyst if your doctor thinks he can do it. They have really come a long way with those surgeries.
But then I did not have endo so I can't be a good judge.

i had several abdominal surgeries before my hysterectomy (including 2 csections) and i had no problems having the lap hysterectomy.
