Odd lump in lower abdomen 7 months post op

I have a strange lump in my lower abdomen on the left side. I am 7 months post op from a TAH. It does not hurt but looks weird. There is no pain. I have a big belly so if it is my intestines and "food" moving through them should it be that visable? It does seem smaller after I have a bowel movement, so I suspect that's what it is. Anyone else have this problem?

I don't know, Kara, but I'd definitely have it checked out. Any possibility it could be a small hernia? I'm a firm believer in having any sort of lump or "thickness" examined. Good luck and keep us posted!

If you still have your ovaries, it could be a cyst. I could definitely feel mine in the abdomen. I agree you should get it checked.

Re: Odd lump in lower abdomen 7 months post op

I had an abdominal hysterectomy on 3/31/09. I also have a lump on the left side of the lower abdomen. Went to Doctor, they did an ultrasound and found nothing. Doctor said it could be nerves balled up together and they will heal in time. Doctor has restricted me from lifting and rest as much as possible. I was experiencing a lot of pain from this. It's gotten better. If I lift something a little too heavy, it will hurt. I go back to my Doctor on 9/2 and if it is still bothering me, he will decide then maybe to do an MRI. I've been concerned that it is some sort of hernia. You should go to your Doctor and get checked out.

Thanks everyone! I'll make my appointment today. I won't be able to go until after the 15th as I won't have a car until then. I guess I was hoping it would go away.
