What a wonderful Bday present... question about leep scar tissue (at end)

Friday I turned 30, and it was a very good day indeed. I took my brother to his knee surgery in STL and again called the VA trying to find out when my appointment was. I am a very persistant person. I also talked to my reg. gyn and asked her about the CT, she said that she talked to the radiologist and he said that he could not be certain what it was, whether it was scar tissue or something else related to my previous dx. I was slightly confused, as was she to how the leep caused scar tissue inside my uterus, on top of my cervix. I guess anything is possible.

Anyhow, later that day after dropping my brother off at his house the scheduling office called and told me I had an appointment this tuesday, and I was elated. I was sort of taken aback that they were able to schedule me in so soon as this is a very busy gyn-onc practice.

This made for the coup de gras of my Bday, yea I know I am scared, but to know that I am getting in so soon made my day.

Now I am so nervous as to what the doctor has in store for me. I just pray it is nothing.

Has anyone heard of scar tissue forming in an area not touched by the leep?

Hi Sherry,
Wishing you a belated Happy Birthday. I am glad that you have your appointment date and it is soon. Pls remember to go prepared with a list of written question as it is so easy to forget things. Also,if you can bring a family member or close friend along to be your second set of ears that could help.
Pls let us know how things go.

Peggiesue,

I typed up a list of questions the other day. My brother is coming with me, as he as a post op appointment earlier that same day. I am just unsure if I want him in the exam room with me, if you know what I mean. I may wait until after the exam, and ask if I can bring him in, so that I can have that 2nd set of ears.

Thank you for the belated bday wishes, thank you for the encouragements and suggestions

Not happy! My oncologist, whom I praised up and down because of his care with me during my previous cancer, merely dismissed what the radiologist had noted on my CT, he didn't even try to get an actual copy of the films (I am guessing that is what it is called). He preformed another pap, but according to the CT it was inside my uterus, so how on earth would a pap be able to detect something going on beyond the vaginal side of the cervix? Everything I have read recommended at least a D&C for things beyond the vaginal cervix. SOOO... I am calling the VA tomorrow to ask them to set me up with a second opinion, because I think this doctor is insane for not trying to at least biopsy the site to be sure it is not cancer... If the VA won't give me a second opinion, then I will pay out of pocket to have it done. Any Suggestions??? Anyone experience this too? I am so frustrated and down right disappointed.

Another way to have the 2nd set of ears is to bring a digital recorder - I got an olympus one that plugs directly into a usb jack to download. quite handy. Then if you want to go in alone, at least you will have a backup of the conversation. (You can still have lunch with your bro!)

Also, bring 2 copies of your questions - its more efficient that way.

good luck!
