5 days post op, was doing well first 2-3 days, not so much anymore. Hematoma?

Hi Sisters,

I've spent a lot of time in here reading, but not posting...

I was feeling really good, but today is the worst day so far.

I have severe bruising from the incision almost all the way up to by belly button (including the flabby baby pouch), the Dr saw this in the hospital on the left side and said to use a heating pad. I have faithfully and it's gotten worse, dark, dark purple, huge and yesterday I started having a lot of pain on the right side too. It's now bruised as well. Yesterday I kept having a strange sensation in the area of pressure, pulling and of course pain. It feels now like it's about grapefruit size and I called the Dr this morning and am going in this afternoon. I have no idea what to expect and am worried. I'm still in SO much pain and am out of pain meds and tylenol/motrin isn't cutting it. I really just wanted a quick recovery. I can't believe my wish wasn't granted

I'm trying to stay positive, but each passing hour is making it more difficult.

I'm so sorry you're having to deal with this but I'm relieved that you have a dr's appt this morning. I hope you find that it's nothing serious and I'm sure your dr. will give you more pain meds. Please let us know what you find out.

back from Dr...

we had suspected that there was a 'blood filled balloon' in there, he took out the staples and poked around to see if anything needed to drain. didn't find anything, so he put a wick in to allow for draining if needed. he'll take it out tomorrow, and i'll see him friday too.

he suspects that i might have popped a blood vessel or pulled a muscle or something. it's entirely possible! he refilled my percocet and we'll go from here.

thank you, i've never needed so many hugs!

yes, he gave me more pain meds, so i'm good for a few more days, and hopefully by then i'll be all straightened out.

the drs office took really good care of me, they put me straight into a room because i couldn't sit in a chair, and the dr saw me asap, we showed up an hour early!

I'm glad you got in to see the dr. and they took good care of you. I hope this treatment takes care of the problem and you're back on track to recovering. I'm also glad you got more pain meds.

I'm glad dr is taking good care of you! like you, I did good the first two days. Day three has been PAIN! However, I think my pain increase is because they dropped me down to a lighter pain med.
